Thank you Bruce - these reds and whites have really been a challenge for me. At least this one didn't come out looking like a neon sign at night! Jan

Very beautiful flower photograph. The black background really sets it off. The detail, focus and DoF is right on.

Margaret - thank you so very much for your kind words. I can look back at my first uploads and I think there has been some improvement. But, I am still a rank beginner - honest engine.

How lovely to have such a beautiful flower in the garden and such a fabulour capture. Your description is perfect and the texture is of swirling satin. and the sharpness and colour of the green is really great. Janice I cannot believe you are a beginner - fabulous work Margaret

Mary - our "bush" is about 8-10' + and has about 20-30 blooms open right now and more waiting in the wings. Now is its best flowering season. Sam wants to cut it back - and I keep telling him he has to wait until most of the blooms are gone. That conversation started a month or so ago. He has cut it back several times (so he can put Christmas blanket lights on it) and it just grows back better than ever. Would you believe that it began its life in our yard as a 12" flower in a quart size container?

My husband would be jealous. The most our plant has had is three blooms at one time. Lovely composition, Janice. The flower in this position does show the dancing skirt well. Very pretty. Mary -
