About	Another capture from Kerguelen Island. I had been taking the shot of Mount Ross in the background but hadn't noticed the bird sitting on the rock in the foreground. I think it adds something to the overall shot! Taken with quite a long zoom, about 5x so I'm surprised there wasn't more fringing on the snow.

Incredible landscape photograph Andy - shame you couldn't have spent longer there and taken a walk to Mount Ross and get some piccies looking back.

Perhaps next time, I mean it is only just down the road isn't it ;-)

Thanks, Kerguelen Island is a photographers paradise as there are so many beautiful views and wildlife to capture. Also, the air is so clear and pollution free as it's about 4000km/2500 miles away from any major landmass (South Africa and Austalia are both about that distance away). To say it is remote is an understatement!!
