About I know, I know....it's fuzzy, out of focus, etc. ... My fondness for this time of day (late dusk) outweighs the technical shortcomings. This is the leading edge of a wing, with its' more prominent features magically capturing those fleeting rays of the dying sun. There is something so very special about those last few moments of sunlight. Since I was a child, I remember always trying to see the last object that the sunlight would touch, before saying goodbye again, for that day. It has a warm and comforting effect on me.

I've taken a long break from UF. I miss all of the work from my friends. I'll be back again, soon.

Hi Bradly, 'Don't really mind the fuzziness, nor it being slightly out of focus. What I do like is the level of abstractism, as well as the deep tones of the reflection of the sun against the deep blue sky. That's what makes this shot... Very nice!

Cheers,

Hugo

i love your 'about', Brad. I find that same dilemna from time to time...that place of finding something magical to capture & knowing that i don't have the gear to pull it off with technical precision. So, i'm always so happy to hear someone throw all those shortcomings to the wind & shoot away anyhow, with joy & commitment, in spite of it all. Bravo.

Brilliantly abstract! All about color and light! The art of imagery in not about following rules, it's about vision and emotion. This is a great example of that! Suberb and hurry back!

Warm is definately the word, and i like th word glowing of the last sunlight a lot too. It's a special peaceful moment. I like the colors here, and i think it's simply a very nice picture. One that could hang on a wall..

Now I understand!
Good, another little bit the light and the effect would not have been the same one.

Brad, it?s surreal, your description explains this piece perfectly! It?s a very emotional photo, reminds me of that tv commercial of a dad talking to his son on a cell phone with Elton john singing ?rocket man? in the background. This is like a glimpse into Brad Prues life. Sadly, it portrays a bit of loneliness, travel is lonely, but travel time is the best time to reflect on one?s life, perfect isolation, here inside the plane, the last fleeting glimpse of light before darkness? etc? Thanks for posting this!
~Mike

I love the 'magic'light moments and the 'misty' moments to capture shots. Nice addition to your flight series. Great to have you back.

...diito everything Jeanette says in her comment - I like the mystery of this shot - the flight - looking out the window - trying to keep that last bit of light no matter how small - nice - K

When i saw this one without your name and guessing what i could be, i could not guess. Then i open it up and stared at it and start to realize that it's a wing. Seeing your name and thinking that Brad really like wings so there?s no doubts. Reading your about and i have to aggree with you. There?s something very special about the last light, the sun is already hidden, but the light is still there..for a moment! From the sky that is so strong somehow. You must travel a lot?! Here in sweden the sun stay "awake" (:)) very late during the summer, already now it?s about 21.00 before she hide. it?s gonna be longer and longer days. From where i come from, the north of sweden, there you can make shots at 23.30 at still there is sun rays - golden sun rays. Fantastic i promise you! So - i agree totaly with you and your shot is magic.

Jeanette
