Ahh that explains the expression. He must have been delighted when he saw it. BTW I MUCH prefer the color, imho. YOu lose the lovely warmth of his skin in the b&w a pity. I would say.

Thanks Alison - I only talked to him after the photograph - I think he was a bit stunned and unsure or wary, he did not know me as I was doing an Impact assesment on the farm and visited for the first time. He was very friendly though when I showed him the photos on the display screen.

WOW!! Joggie and incredible portrait. One of those "I wish I had shot that photos". Great stuff. I love the detail and the color. He doesn't look too pleased to be being photographed. Was he?

Hi Naomi - Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. Regarding the crop - mostly on camera, only a small portion of the hat was cropped in PS(less than 10%). I've tried to come as close as possible with the 28-200mm to get the detail on the skin and beard. Kind regards.
