Jan your eye will become trained to see things differently after a time. Like me in one years time you will look back and say to yourself oh my what was I thinking. You will learn quickly but not without some pain. Bitter critics will be your best teacher. My best wishes to you, Ellen

Ellen - thanks for the comment - you and Margaret offered some great advice--and I can use all I can get. Thanks for caring. Jan

Thank you very much Galal for your comment. I do like what Margaret Sturgess did to tweak the shot a little. Am going to be more critical of what I shoot and make any changes that might improve the shot before I upload in the future. Jan

Big improvement Margaret - think I will get in and use this one to play with. I believe I did try and blur a little more with the blur tool - but I normally cannot get as extensive a blur as you were able to get. Must not be holding my tongue right or perhaps trying to do a blur the wrong way. Will play some more. Thanks for taking the time to comment and work with a picture to help it out and to instruct. I really appreciate the help and advice I get from those that comment on my photos. Jan

This is a lovely shot. I agree with Margaret about the rose in the background. I've trained my self to look at the shot through the monitor and then look again at the flower. For some reason when I just look through the screen I forget to look at all the elements in the shot. Trees for the forest thing. How are you coming with PS?

Janice a lovely rose, and good detail. Think maybe the pink rose draws the eye a bit away from the yellow rose. Perhaps some blurring of the background - had a quick go, not brilliant but perhaps give you an idea. Maybe even take off the bottom petal and crop to bottom of rose to give a more bud effect. It is such a good shot of the rose. I like the other two rose shots, but as UF is so slow will not comment separately. Margaret
