Not often thatyou get an intact abbey! All the ones up here are ruins thanks to Henry VIII.... though I hear those cistercians were getting a bit greedy back then!
like the diagonal comp and rich colours - the fern being an ideal foreground point of interest

Nah, it's a flagpole, Den ~ trouble is, at this resolution you can only see the flag which looks as it it's floating in mid-air. And if the legend says 'fisheye', then I've made a boo-boo ~ it was taken with my 18-70 at its widest. Best regards, Chris

Chris.... the most striking thing in this wonderful photo is the sharp details of both the foreground all through till the background... perfect depth of focus... chris i have been the the website and your picture is so much better than wat they have on there home page they have a lack of pictures of the place .. it was foundedin 1146 and monks used to live there cool stuff .. and the interior is stunning ..
