About We decided to visit Forde Abbey gardens on our 'day off' today ~ a 2-for-1 ticket offer helped persaude us! We were so glad we went!! So much colour and beauty!! A 200+ day!! This is one of my favourite shots from the day's shoot ~ I hope you like it!

The abbey is over 800 years old and is now a private home, though is much of it is open to the public to view. Well worth a visit if you're down this way!!

Best regards to all,

Chris

Not often thatyou get an intact abbey! All the ones up here are ruins thanks to Henry VIII.... though I hear those cistercians were getting a bit greedy back then!

like the diagonal comp and rich colours - the fern being an ideal foreground point of interest

Lovely Chris, the ferns in the foreground make a great starting point, to meander along the river, taking in the lovely reflections leading to the abbey

I really like this sgot Chris. The strong diagonal on the composition makes for a powerful image that leads the eye to the abbey. Love the reflections and colours you have captured too... Excellent work!

Nah, it's a flagpole, Den ~ trouble is, at this resolution you can only see the flag which looks as it it's floating in mid-air.
And if the legend says 'fisheye', then I've made a boo-boo ~ it was taken with my 18-70 at its widest.
Best regards, Chris

Great compo Chris, love the water colours which are of course a reflection of the sky. That's not a TV aerial you've left in is it.
Oh yeah, have you sneaked in a Fisheye lens too?
