Hi Laurie,
I live in Arrochar which is 45 minutes from Dunoon. You would have driven through it I guess! I play in a band and two band members live in Dunoon! We often play in the pubs in Dunoon, but I guess you were a little young to have been drinking!! I don't mind the weather here, Florida is just too hot for me!
Take care, Howard

Howard, Thanks for your kind comment! I lived in Dunoon, Scotland for almost 5 years when I was growing up and I remember the weather being very wet and very cold. My parents tell me I didn't see the sun until I was 2 years old. Still, I think you have the better deal on this one?I just can?t take the heat and humidity anymore!

Love the pussy picture. She looks interested but and sleepy at the same time!
With regards to the weather, it may be wet, but at least it's 9000 degrees. Here in Scotland it's wet and -9000 degrees!!! Well around 14... 8-)

Thanks Aidan! Yes, I did use a flash on this shot. I'm slowly getting used to the 100mm macro. The USM takes a little while to master and I've been having dof issues, but I think thats becuase I'm trying to get too close to my subjects. I have a lizard shot in my portfolio that took with the lens if you want to check it out.

Hi Laurie, Isabelle has very fiery eyes! *LOL*. Nice capture. Did you use the flash on camera? How do you find this for macros?
Thanks for your comment :)

My spouse and I volunteer with the Red Cross and we spent time in Florida last year for the hurricanes. Sure hope this year isn't as bad!! Glad Arlene only brought rain (but that can be bad, too). -- Naomi

Thanks Naomi! Arlene missed us, but we did get a lot rain because of her. I can't believe I'm having to worry about hurricanes again so soon. We had to go through 3 last year!

LoL! Great kitty portrait. I like the inverted Y of the white. Stay safe from Arlene (I assume that's why it is so hot and raining). -- Naomi

Thanks Arwa! Isabelle is quite a good photo subject. As long as she's comfortable she'll let me take as many pictures as I want. She loves the attention and she's quite a ham!
She's sporting her summer haircut right now so it'll be a few months before her hair all grows in. It's so hot here I get he clipped in a lion cut about twice a year. I'll follow your portrait suggestion as soon as she get some more hair. :)

Looks like a cute Persian! I have some suggestions for taking more pictures of her Look around the house till you find a background with a similar color of her eyes, because Persians are so placid and calm it would be easier to photograph them than Siamese for example, groom her and puff up her fur with grooming powered Place her on a stand against the orange cupper background then call her name and snap away! This way you?ll get the glory of her coat and body plus her beautiful eyes ;)
