About On a recent trip we traveled a forestry road for a while to see the sights and came along an old abandoned house.
It was so basic and primitive... to think that people lived off the land at one time... without the INTERNET!
Anyways, comments are welcomed.

Hi Keith,
Thanks for all your comments recently on my work... much appreciated!
I took your suggestion and played with this in photoshop to make it a B&W. I am a big fan of colour and I like the original, but I thought I would post the B&W as well to see what others thought. Thanks for the suggestion.

Great shot. I really like the cross - not sure but this might make a great mono shot and then the black might become a feature. There is lots of potential with this image.
Kiind regards

I like the image, especially the view through the window.. Even though I like the bit of flowers at the bottom of the image, I think I would crop more of the image (top and bottom) to focus more on the window... nicely seen and captured... great work

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the comment... I really wanted to highlight the cross someone has carved through the wall, and the only way I knew how was to silhouette it against the outside. But I agree that there is a lot of black. I guess I could have taken two shots, one like this, and one with the inside of the house metered and merged the two together, but I wonder if I would have lost the impact of the cross? Something to try next time I'm passing through!
Thanks again!

I like the shot and the title fits well. My objection is that there is an awful lot of black here. Not sure how to do it differently though (without cheating). I like the amount of detail you included on top and in the foreground.

Cool shot, here, Kim! The window and shape of the cross look as though they're suspended in mid-air (were it not for the piece of roof giving them context!) I love the little splash of yellow flowers in the foreground!

I had almost the same type of photographic experience couple of weeks back. What I found was new (at least to me) and almost palpable.

Abandoned houses harbour strong currents of emotions long past.. or not..

Very well composed , Kim, especially I like the contrasty colours of the yellow weeds in front and the blue sky. Great shot, though for my taste the shadows are lacking detail on my screen. May be you try curves to open it up some?
Regards Jörg

Kim, I like this shot a lot! The center placement of the window works well here, particularly with the diagonals provided by the roof line and window. You also did a terrific job exposing for dark (wood surfaces, shadows) and light (everything else.)

And horrors to think of a world without the net...how did they get email?!?!?
