Yes, you are right. But, and I am not making excuses but stating the facts here, as I said in the about this was done with natural light on an overcast day. The camera was handheld which was a credit to me considering I was shaking with the cold. Also, as I explained to Larry, these plants in our garden are over 6' tall. I am only about 5'7" so I really have to reach or stand on logs to get to them.

As for this image, I love the colours, but the shapes are a bit lost. There is little to no separation for that "tongue" in the middle.
My guess is that the light needs to be a bit more directional.
