It is a beautiful sunrise Gayle. I personally shoot most of my shots early morning as I like the lighting that time of day. The water being so calm adds to the overall peacefull feeling to this picture.

Beautiful colors in the sky and the reflection. The only suggestion I'd make would be to use a slower speed film to eliminate some of the grain that's showing up as noise, especially in the darker areas. If you really want the best quality a slide film like Fuji Velvia or Kodak E100G will give a really fine grain.

hi and thanks for your encouraging comments! For the last 10yrs.i have lived in Graham south of Puyallup...prior to that i lived in Seattle for approx. 20yrs....not from here,but feel like a native Washatonian at this pt....been to Spokane a few times but either too hot or too cold!

Gayle this is just beautiful...the colors and the reflections are awesome, yes I'd say getting up early paid off in a big way...this is stunning. What part of WA are you in? I lived in Spokane WA several years back..never saw anything this beautiful. I love your silhouettes too, nice perspective on this shot too..very well done...:):)Linda

Classic silhouette. The row of trees (I think) in the background detracts a bit from the shape of the dock and boats, but this is still a lovely and appealing shot.

Thanks for comment! actually i think it is from the 400iso film in lower sunrise light and the contrast tweak in paintshop...there is a tool to smooth it out,but i don't like the loss of sharper edges on the pier...i have my 35mm film transferred to CDs,so don't know if low quality development causes any probs..

The sky is beautiful & the reflections in the water are awesome. Just a great shot. The only critique I have is that I see a little noise at the very bottom, but that could be my eyes too...or from the scan,
