About "The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday celebrates the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America. We commemorate as well the timeless values he taught us through his example -- the values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service that so radiantly defined Dr. King’s character and empowered his leadership. On this holiday, we commemorate the universal, unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirit."

This is my tribute image to a man who cared enough to serve the people...

Hi Gayle,

a great tribute to a great man... good to see some new stuff from you. I have been very quite the last weeks. It seems that most of my UF friends are gone, and I don't much time left at the moment.
Love that rays.
Hugs, Thilo

One man, one non-violent vision can indeed make a lasting impression, in spite of being spied on by The Government. Too bad he didn't live long enough to articulate his vision for economic equality, as he felt that was the next step after the Civil Rights victories.

Beautifully poetic Gayle. I admire how you always take the opportunity to bring issues and celebrations before our eyes in photos. This is gorgeous and a fitting tribute.

A beautiful tribute Gayle and beautifully written.

On a lighter note you found the hole in the sky that the sun was peeping through and made my tree glow. :) All those lovely rays of light. Like a divine light shining through the dark clouds to guide us. Did you try a portrait orientation of this one? Wondering how far down to the ground it went before it faded. Perhaps there was too much ground clutter for portrait orientation? A beautiful sight. Well seen and captured Gayle.

Cheers - Ann :)
