Thanks Ned for your detailed useful answer, it is much appreciated. the 12-24 might be my second or third, as I need the 28-75 at the moment, I am not worried about more range as I already have the Canon 70-300 USM, but for the daily use and the short length, I have the 18-55 Canon which i hate, it is really soft and miss lots of sharpness, it might get a sharp one every now and then, but beside that, it is useless, I am also considering the 50mm 1.4, we will see,
Any way, thanks allot dear for the useful informations and for your kindness,
Regards,

Hello Ameed,
The 28-300mm LD XR lens is a nice lens as it provides a wide-to-long focal length. It's great for travelling light as you don't really have to take all your lenses with you. However, when it comes to quality, i think it's soft at the shorter focal lengths (28mm to about 70mm). I rarely use it in that range! It's sharp at the longer focal length though.

I bought the lens because it was a good value. However, after a short period of time i thought that i should have saved some more money for a better quality lens.

Actually i hate changing lenses as i may miss the event .. nevertheless, it's a headache. Now, I think that i should have bought another camera so i can attach a wide angle lens to one camera and a tele lens or zoom to another. Well .. carrying two cameras is a headache too, but it's becoming a must to me after buying the sigma 70-200 f/2.8 (this means that i should buy a bigger bag as well :s) $$$.

I have no idea about the other 28-75mm Tamron lens! However, personally i would go for a wider zoom lens as the 28mm is effectively a 45mm on the 300D or 20D! That's a standard focal length!
The sigma 12-24mm is an excellent lens according to the reviews. It's on my wish list.
Well .. ok .. it all depends on what you need and what lenses you have.

Good luck with your new purchase :)
Thanks for your comment.

Beautiful capture dear Ned...love the angle and the yawn...making me yawn..hahaha...I like your crop, it's always a wonder for me on people....where exactly to crop it...you captured the essence here, the picture tells the story quite well, and I don't feel like there is anything missing...very well done, precious image....:):)Linda
