About On December 26, 2004, tsunamis swept across the Indian ocean, spawned by a magnitude 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Sumatra. Aside from Indonesia, the island nation of Sri Lanka likely suffered the most casualties, with the death toll reported at 21,715 on December 29th.

This picture is from the satellite & its going to ve a disaster, TSUNAMI...

in deep water esp. in ocean a big hurricane or a strong earthquake causes big waves and that is called Tsunami..Yes a good picture from the satalite but the result is not good..

Murat, did you know that this is a perfectly formed hurricane apparently on course for Florida? I live in Florida and from July to October every year I fear looking at maps just like this.

yeah maybe this picture is a Hurricane but in deep water esp. in ocean a big hurricane or a strong earthquake causes big waves and that is called Tsunami..
One of my friend email this picture to me..
But I m agree with u that we also think about the suffering people ..Man-kind should help and think about other people who r in trouble..

This is a picture of a huricane off the coast of Florida... ???

While I agree with youe setiment, the photo is wrong, it is not a tsumani, it is a huracane

Perhaps now would be a good time to mention those that are suffering today in the Gulf coast states of the U.S.

By the way, it would be proper to credit the source of this image, It is beautiful. did you take it?
