"You're gonna be great!" "No I'm not" "Man you're already getting better than me!" - A bit of the conversation of the 2 young boys in this photo..
They were quite flattered I was there to take their picture and so excited until they realized the older boys had much more skating experience and that I was taking their picture too.. They walked up to the top of one of the smaller ramps and sat down to watch the older guys do their stuff..
I was forced to use some serious digital zooming on this photo and the lighting wasn't the best.. It was dark [obviously] so the giant light poles were on.. They were pretty far away and I'm shocked with the results..
I adjusted it a bit with the brightness + contrast.. Added a cyan/green/yellow color adjustment to it.. And then desaturated it and then applied a cyan + sepia overlay on top of that..
I like the shot a lot. Its a nice capture out of the street. I really like the little background story. Boys are always about who is best and competition.
