Thanks, Shirley! I'm pleased that, due to colour contrast, more than blur, I managed good subject isolation here.

Thank you, Shirley. With old planes, it is possible to show prop motion to convince the mind that the object is not just pasted onto the sky and defying gravity. I'm a little afraid that the bird may seem to look that way,'though.

Thank you, Paul! I see that you have maintained your presence and activity on usefilm/imageopolis. I felt I could not keep it up and found it far too easy not to resume once imagopolis restarted things. It seems that Shirley may have "invited" me back. I have such a backlog of images to work on and hope I don't wear out my welcome! ;)

The bird was panned from tripod gimbal head. No problem with this, but the background remains sharper than I like because a high shutter speed was selected to keep the bird sharp. To get a blurrier background required adding motion blur in Photoshop. Here is what it looked like before the alteration. I think there is more impression of speed after the added blur.

I'm really behind in thanking you, Shirley. I like the way this one turned out but imagine you would do something else with it! :)

Thank you, Shirley. There is lots of emphasis on the front focus here, which takes in the head sufficiently but not much else. I think this is OK, 'though. More dof is not a reasonable option given the high shutter speed required for these little birds.

Thank you, Shirely. These are amazingly quick birds, all nervousness and twitch!

Thanks, Shirley. I hope to post some exciting stuff at a later point. I'm really into birds right now which I hope to occasionally intersperse with other subjects.

Thank you, Shirley. It took some practice and anticipation. Studying this subject's body language and a fast camera did the trick. This is one reason I don't cotton to electronic viewfinders, where what is seen is, ever so slightly, already history.

Nicely composed, Shirley. I like the high key treatment. (I can't recognize a face in the pattern. Sigh!) ;)

Quite interesting pose and almost lithographic tonality. The harshness, brittle detail, seem to belie the femininity of the subject. Yet, it works!

I can't understand how you got from A to B, Shirley. Nonetheless, it does make a striking abstract!

I, too, like to get the insects along with the flowers. They go together and make this image truly exciting.

Arjit, thank you! You are so right, the focus was spot on front and shallow enough to isolate the subject a bit. I can't claim credit, as sometimes it is the camera which is successful! :)

Thank you, Riny! This is a personal favourite. The warblers are small birds, about the size of a European tit. (We call a tit something else here, like chickadee.)
