I had the scorpion in a CD-R spindle cover turned upsidedown. You are actually seeing the carpet through the plastic spindle cover piece lit with the blacklight.

Hey, very cool. After you commented on my black widow pic I looked up some red back pics but this is way better than what I found on the internet. Nice pic.

Great photo Bruce!

Yeah, I just could not resist the temptation. It was so good looking. It had probably just shed its skin and.....well....it was a big naughty snake and it needed to be handled a little. You know what I mean. Right?
Check out my next pic for clarification if you'd like.

Very nice shot but that empty lift is somehow ominous to me....I still like it very much though.

Thanks Scott. I was also impressed by the DOF but I must confess; these little auto focus cameras are getting better and better!!!

Oh and by the way, to all of the rest of you guys who have not yet seen Scott's work, it is very high quality. Treat yourself and check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks Paul, Maybe the name of this pic was misleading. Despite the fact that I called this "A Girl And Her Camera" the sky is what I found to be the focal point of this pic. I actually played with this pic a lot and I did lighten the foreground so that you could see the girl more but to my taste it took away the contrast between the sky and the foreground that makes the sky such a focal point of this pic. Maybe there is a happy medium in between what I did and a lighter foreground. Either way, thanks for your comments. They are always appreciated!!!!!

Great shot! You can see intent in this cat's eyes. It appears that you like cats. Me too. Thank you for your comment on my pic today, as well.

Cheers

Nice job in someones flower-bed Laura!!! Carlsbad was, until recently, the home of one of the few remaining full quarter mile dragstrips in southern CA so it holds a special place in my heart. Unfortuneately I believe it to be shut down now.Ahh Carlsbad....Palomar Airport Road.... Sory for the little tangent there Laura. Another Great shot!!!

Actually Laura, it was taken from almost the exact spot where you were standing when I very first happened upon you that night we met but it was taken on a subsequent night. Now get out there and take some more pics!!!!
