dear kelly,
i am from those cold parts and happy i only need to encounter an ice rink if and when i want to. the skates are clearly visible here and the postures and the movements are of clear beginners.
well, the enthusiasm about this photo escapes me. it is well done but nothing out of the ordinary, i think.

thank you for your comment. well, you might have notices already, i am a summer guy. so this is where it should start, sun, light breeze, outdoor life, etcetera. still some time to go and skiing holidays will be coming first.

i only make occasional visits to uf these days and have uploaded a few new pictures to keep in contact.
i have nott been to istambul for so many years that i wouldn´t even have missed this for blue mosque. very got capture of street life! çok güsel.
last april i visited antalya for the first time and for a photo mission. i liked it a lot.

dear gary,
with a large format camera you should have uploaded the max format here. it is hard to judge the technical quality in such a small picture. the subject is great but what i am issing is some distinct light to give the scene some effect. alternatively, as we hardly can switch on the sun, a strong attraction could have been an object of strong contrast or unsual form placed on the steps, hung to the door or leaned in the corner. possibly a slight change of the camera position to either side could also have added some interest and attraction. the way it is, this looks rather documentary and would invite me to get closer for a number of close-ups.
have another go once you burden yourself with the tripod again!
