This picture is very nice. You have captured a nice & playful moment. I love the toning too.
I wish a bit more sharpness, that maybe lost due to the scanner.

This is a great photo Jenn. I'll assume that the softness is from the scan. :-)
The toning you did is great. All in all, a very touching photo.

he always looks like that (haha) he's not too terribly angry most of the time though. i used photoshopLE(elements) to do a crosshatch to the background. first, i selected him with the "wand", under selection (and this should be very similar to photoshop 6 and 7) i chose feather and did a 19pixel feather to my selection. that helps blend the background with the subject w/o leaving a harsh "hey wheres where i selected him" effect. i did an inverse selection, then removed the color (it was red brick) and then used the crosshatch (i think thats what its called) tool. then voila. i did about 10 different things to this very pose. when i get my site put together i'll leave links so people can series of the same photograph. theres a few he played with that i took at http://www.jessegilsinger.com if you want to look. also photoshopped around a bit. thanks for commenting! i appreciate it!

Hi Jennifer, This is a nice portrait (although he looks abit angry to me!). The lighting, colours & angle work well, but I'd have tried to have more space above his head. I'm curious what you did to the background - could you give details how you achieved that effect? H
