Beautiful shot, simplicity, nice tones and most of all; feeling, mood, call it what you will, this picture just speaks to me at the level beyond words, which is what photography is supposed to do, isn't it? Thanks for posting it.

I really like this photo. The colours are excellent, as is the sharpness. The white of the lighthouse against the blue sky works well, as does the seat with its lovely shadow.

Ed, this is a very nice shot, I like how the three elements of the photo, the lighthouse, the bench, and the shadow of the bench all work together in the photo. The only thing I would nit pic on is the very top of the shadow on the left hand side is cut off. If you get the chance to shoot this again try to pan left just a tad. Best Regards, Jim Gamble

Burim (and others) - this is a place about a 1/2 hour from Cape Cod, on the other side of Buzzards Bay. It's Horseneck Beach in Westport, MA. Horseneck has a dune system very similar to those found at the Cape Cod National Seashore. Thanks for your comments.

Ed, I think this is very well done. It's almost an abstract, but inclusion of part of her face makes the subject clear. The lines are great and the lighting too. I'm impressed!

Ed, wonderful photo! I saw this and was very impressed. The out of focus rope leading to the boat was a fantastic idea. I can't believe you got this shot with a 50mm lens. Great work, hope to see more of it.

I like what you are going for here. The leading line here can't help but grab your attention and runs the eye right out to the boat. Strong colors, and interesting composition. JB

I too like the idea, colours, and textures, but I have to agree with Jim: the big brown blob that is the rope is too distracting. Two feet right, or two feet left maybe too. Cheers, Marc

Hi Ed, I see what you're doing here, but it doesn't quite work for me. I fully expect that you will get a wide range of preferences on this one. I find the depth of field to be just a bit too distracting. The out of focu area is just too close to the perfectly focused boat, IMO. My eye doesn't handle it well. I think the composition from about 2 feet to the right would have worked for me, but it's not quite right for me.

Hey Ed, Interesting how narrow that plane of focus is, especially in the grasses. Like how you composed this shot and works well in IR. JB

Ed- great photo. it is interesting where you placed the headstone in the composition; how the negative space is behind the stone. I think that it may just be the scan or your DOF but the area of grass just to the left of the stone seems unnaturally sharp with the rest of the frame.

the exposure is just perfect Ed, the colors are fantastic and you've managed to catch the flow of the water very well. The leaves in the foreground seem to lack distinction and seem a bit busy. Also, is that a leaf or something on the rock towards the lower left edge? I feel it distracts just a little bit.

this is good, i like the light on the opposite side of the tree like that, and the colors around the moon are beatiful, but the blacks seem a bit washed out or flat or something, by the way do you happen to remeber how long this exposure was, great shot........................joe
