Excellent details and lovely natural tones. I love the textures picked up in the rock surfaces and that wonderful almost benign expression on the face. Great photography Marnie. More HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGS and best wishes to you both......Ray

Hiya Marnie, it's great to see you here. I hope that you and Doyle are keeping well.

This is a very well detailed wildlife portrait and you have captured great eye contact. We can see that there is a fair degree of intelligence lurking behind that stare. This gorilla KNOWS. The tones are wonderful and very natural looking. A big HUUUUUUUUG for you and my very best wishes to you and to Doyle....Ray

Good shot, have you tried a closer crop? A crop around the face might give an interesting look.

You caught a great moment here, it's difficult to get the animals when they are looking your direction.

I like the eye you captured.. just one regret, the blurry effect probably due to the zoom lens coupling with the "slow" shutter speed. With such lens, you have to work with at least 1/200 or use a tripod.
Anyway, I really like the eye of this monkey.
Regards,
Fabrice

Hiya Marnie, how wonderful to 'see' you again after such a long time. I have been away from UF for a day and a half to be with Ian so I must have just missed this shot when I closed down on Monday.

I love these shots showing the rays of the sun filtering through the clouds. As you may remember I am not really a landscape photographer. I'll have a go but I find the results pretty poor most times. I do like this shot of yours sweetie, the cloud formation varies in intensity, dark and forbidding directly overhead but gradually lightening up with hope of a fine day later on. Well done to you and a big big welcome back. I've missed you both and your are never very far from my thoughts. A HUGE HUUUUUG and as always my very best wishes to you and Doyle.

Aloha Marlyce,

Congratulations on this fine image for 'PHOTO OF THE DAY' - July 24th, 2008.

Excellent; hope to see one of these little fellows in person some day. Never been to Long Beach. I will be stomping around Marin and San Francisco this week looking for the "perfect" photo op -- then heading to Carmel.

Thanks AJ....and you think D & I talk to each other, remember we are married. Actually we do spend ALL off work hours together, but I was home from surgery and he had gone to work...actually got lectured (with a smile on his face) about being outside and with a camera 10 days after surgery. I would have like better focus too, but was just happy to have camera in my hands once again.
