Marlyce -- Wild yes but prairie dogs no. I have seen these little ones before but never get tired of seeing more of your Korgie's. So cute!

Thanks Annemette........not much chance of seeing a deer here, it is all fenced in and right next to the road.........not to mention deer are very scarce in the city, but it is not missing much else.

Thanks Onie. My son gave me this plant when it was 2 inches tall for mother's day before he left for the service. It is now over 8 feet tall, I can tell you it has stopped the kids from pulling up on the lawn!

~~GRIN~~ The title got me also... Very clever and funny to boot Marlyce...:)

The cactus doesn't go by the name *Vlad* does it LOL... if so, the bee didn't stand a chance...

Dad had a smaller variety in the drive way of our family home, right beside the side gate to the rear yard... Colin, husband of 34 yrs, but boyfriend back then, said he was sure it was there just to jump out at him each time he called... ~~GRIN~~ I was forever, with tweezers in hand, searching his legs to pull those vicious needles...

Nice detail in this...:)

Onie...

Have looked at both Marlyce... :0 and both are wonderful in their own right... For me, it's this one... Love the way the suns rays are *mellowing* out the mist and creating a filtered effect... The textures through the grasses and earth are extra nice... and the bonus. as you said, the ducks...:)

Looks more like a colour plate from a story book...:)

Love it...:)

I think you could use this as a sewing needle if you could drill a small hole for the thread....oh a photo op.........the needle next to regular sewing needles. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks Michele. The needles sprout out small and grow. I took one of the needles to work one day, showed the girls that work with me. I took a pair of levi and folded them over 5 times and put the needle straight thru the jeans. SHARP is an understatment.

Marlyce -- I cannot say I am surprised about your son's tour being extended as you know the situation all too well, no doubt. Back in the late 60's I extended my Vietnam tour by one year but that was so different then. I at least had control over the tour duration and made the decision myself. I will continue to pray for him and wish you and all your family the best.

Thank you AJ. I tired taking from a different angle, but I lost the spears through the body. The cactus is about 8 feet tall and about 12 feet across...this was a close as I could get and not end up like the bee and still show the impalement.

Thanks AJ for the comment. The reason I showed the smaller shots were to lead to the more dramatic larger. I thought about posting two shots of three, but liked the effect of all 6. These were shot rapid all together and it showed the build up of the wave crashing and then the flow of the water draing back to show the rock. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thank you Joe. I was very happy of the way the color of the water came out, as I did not want to enhance any effects, etc as it is too hard when the pictures are the same object. Glad you could see the power in this.
