Slavery is illegal in USA...:) Just kidding. No my set up was a humble one. A desklamp with a 5500K white bulb sitting on a kitchen stool with a piece of white fabric to diffuse it. I had to use four 9 feet cords to help me reach the plant. The desk lamp on my left and tripod toward the center of the plant.

I setup the camera on a tripod and did a minus one (-1) exposure compensation, since it was coming too hot even with the "diffuser".

I also sprayed water over it with a plastic spray to give a crispier look.

Then on Adobe CS3 I ran it thru neat image, sharpened using Lab mode then adujsted colors with selective color. Pushing the black to the max and adding a lot of black to yellow and red. This helpd get the "studio black"

I am glad you liked it and thanks for the comments.

Ed: No need to go to Costa Rica if you can get beautiful birds like this one. Thank you for your comments on my little frog.

Well done, Ed! There is great definition and quality to your closeup. The tight crop and angled lines create a dynamic feel. You have been fortunate to find a docile specimen within range of a 100mm. lens.

Great details Ed! You can see every little feather line! The dof of field perfectly captured only the prominate elements. Well done. I just set out hummingbird feeders the other day and this morning I have sighted my first bird. I can't wait to get home and catch them on film!
