I definitely like the compostion and lighting - the image seems to be on the soft side and the petals are at the end of their cycle - a little cloning and unsharp would do wonders - and perhaps it is just the compression that affects the sharpness

As far as subtelty of shading - much of what the final print id, is not going to be apparent in a jpeg. In fact, without a preview of the uploaded image, it often turns out differently than how i see it in Photoshop and again differently in other programs. As an 8X10 print the detail in the dark are is much more apparent.

I like the composition - the lighting and skin and hair textures are a problem for me - the skin and hair textures are rough - perhpas fill flash. My eyes go to the bright background.

I like the original crop best - I might tone the greens down a little but i like the flower coming from it - the out of focus elements draw the eye to the center and the bubbles (my favorite things) give it some life - well done

my sense of this is that the foreground frames and moves the ye to the background - a technique often used by other photographers - and considering it is very dark - I feel that not everything in a photo has to be in sharp focus. However, not eberyone would agree with this - on the wall - the colors draw the eye in.

I love the lighting in this - and i wish the shoreline didn't have the buildings and old structure would fit with he mood but for me, these are too modern - they break the mood of the water, moon and light.

I love these kinds of skies and the placement of the horizon is excellent - the very bright area is intense - my experience tells me to under expose the whole sscen if it is a digital and then slectively restore the colors in the darker areas so there is detail in the very bright areas - and to use an ND graduated filter - since this is film - I think a graduated filter would improve this a lot and my guess is you could still do some work in the bright areas with layers in Photoshop.

Thanks for the comment - I don't think the frame helps the image much - way to heavy for such a dleicate image - I was experimenting - I think I'll go minimalist from now on.

I love the angle of the road and the compression created by the long lens - I wish the car was coming this way and I could see the driver.

I wondered why you wanted to do this without filters - a polarizer wouild eliminatew glare and there are a number of color correction filters avalaible. This is a lovely composition - the leaves feel like a waterfall almost - and I think a polarizer might have been all you needed to make ti pop. I also think increasing the saturation of some of the colors in Photoshop might work - it's mazing how the saturation tool can work to change the color blance - richen some and eliminate color casts.
