Great shot, good composition and tones.
Here is my advice to someone just starting out:
Learn from the ground up. Learn exposure, light is your friend. Learn DOF (Depth of Field) and how to use it to your advantage. Read books. Take an intro to darkroom class. Go to exhibits. Find photographers whose stuff you dig, and try to figure out how they did what they do, and then try to do it yourself...and then move past that and develop your own eye. Learn all the technical things you can, so they are at your disposal when you need them. Don't worry about $ for expensive cameras. The one you have is great.
My mentor said that after the first 10,000 shots, you are ready to begin. Most important- have fun.

One of your best I feel.. Great tones here, and really sharp! Different surfaces, a mechanical feel, you don't have to like Softtails to like this!
