Very beautiful rose. The color is beautiful, I like how only a certain area is sharp. The black is a little distracting as it takes away from the over all beauty of the image.

you've captured my favorite rose perfectly. Its clarity and color are blended so well that who needs the real rose when you could have this one to stay so magnificent forever. Wonderfully done!!!!

The textures of the image of its semi-transparent petals is terrific - I did and experiment and put my hands over both sides and liked the flow of croping out the black areas - just a thought - it is quite lovely as is.

Terrific job, Marja. You chose a very beautiful blossom, and captured it skillfully in this macro. DOF extends throughout the frame, and the lighting brings out the fine detail in the blossoms with no highlights to detract. As a fellow Coolpix owner, I really appreciate the way you used your 5700's macro abilities to full advantage.

This caught my eye and I had to have a closer look Marja. You are doing well with your new camera. I usually have trouble with more than two controls. My wife looking over my shoulder said "neat" when she saw your well seen monochrome shot. I lliked teh differential focus and the tonal range. It could easily change my whole approach to digital photography. Nice work!
Cheers! Jeff

Although I really liked the pink and purple hues in the First Snow photo, I like this one better because it's not as dark, and therefore more vivid. Vincent may be right about too much shade, though. You could try cropping the photo from the bottom in the space between the first and second rock.
I absolutely love winter, snow, and photographs like this. Can't wait to see more!

Love the contrasty detail, and the thin branches that fill the little opening of the sky right at the top of the image and just a little to the left complete the frame perfectly. Timeless and magical.
I really really want to get myself to Finland someday, and someday soon!

Don't you just love the way the fog makes your foreground detail stand off the image? I like the tones - darker than usual for fog and it works great as a B&W. Much much approval and praise.

This is nice too. Although I personally like yesterdays post a bit more. For one, the clouds add to yesterdays image....plus a bit more snow. Also, part of this image is in the sun and the other shade. The two rarely work together in the same frame from my own experiences. The composition is cleaner here, but not as dramatic as the other. Still another good shot.

This is the kind of Photo I'd love to have on my wall, to look at it every time I need quiete and serenity. It's also a Pic you make me desire to come back in the winter, and I usually hate cold and grey sky. Mervellous also the framing, your choise to compose the image.
I simply love it.
