The first thing that draws my attention to this image is it's golden dark light, love the colour you achieved with this, composition wise the image is good but I think you could have used the rocks on the foreground better to draw the attention to the main subject, though I like the way you composed the shot using the wave to lead the eye into the image I also like the silhouetted subjects but feel that if you have gonne a little bit closer (a bit more zoom perhaps) you would have achieved a more striking image... still very good work and a 6/7

Hello Tim and thank you for taking the time to comment on some of my images. I've been using the D80 for the past 4 months or so and I can tell you that I'm well impressed with its capabilities compared to the D70.
Basically the D80 is a smaller, plastic (but well built) a bit slower D200, the sensor is the same and the image quality is exactly the same, so basically if you are not shooting sports and don't need 5fps the D80 is a cheaper easier to carry around alternative not compromising quality. What I say basically is if you are planning on buying a D200 for landscaping or architecture for instance, I would preffer to spend the extra money in quality glass and buy the D80. In the end all the bodies preform extremelly well with the right glass.

On Top of the world you could say to this picture, at least that is how I would feel if I was ever in this splendid location. Nick this shot is awsome and breeds class all over it, it's the best example that when you put some effort into achieving something you are often pleasently surprised. I absolutelly love your work Nick!
Thank you for commenting on my portfilios too, your comments are very much appreciated.
All the best my friend,
Rodrigo

Love the way you selected the moment and composed the shot, very well spotted and a great street portrait. I also like the B&W conversion I think it really adds to the image.

I like the way in witch you composed the shot, although the horizon is bang on in the middle of the frame it doesn't totally break the image now I think the colorization doesn't really do it for this subject, I would preffer either a full colour picture or a traditional b&w, but that is personal taste. Another thing it bothers me a bit is that telephone post (or something like that) on the left side of the image, it keeps drawing my eyes away from your main subject.
Well hope I helped.

Rod
