Nice composition, the picture just needs some level and contrast adjustments; also, something is affecting clarity--perhaps it's the reduction and jpeg artifacts, or maybe this is a small portion of an image cropped out and it's low on resolution?

You're not supposed to be perfect when you come on this site. That is why people are here. I think people should try to remember that. Andrew is here to learn or he wouldn't post his photos. Critiques are well advised, but not talking down to a person. At least I don't think so. Not that he was talked down to...it just seems like a little patience is needed here with this photo. And yes, the guy should be cropped out.

actully i didnt mean to get the guy on the left in the picture. It took me about 8 tries to get the mic in the air at that height. the background sucks.
but yeah, i know it will take alot more to get that shot perfect.
thanks though

This isn't a photograph. Its a snapshot. If this were a photograph, I'd certainly say that the half guy on the left shouldn't be there, and it needs more.. um.. purpose. you have to think "would someone want this framed as a decoration?" you know? He looks so goofy.

Is the softness intentional? the lighting doesn't really do it for me, either, especially the glare off the spoon.

an interesting idea Andrew...perhaps better if the lamp weren't centered in the frame and if the focus were a bit sharper...keep trying
