fairly good lighting except for a spot on the far left side of his head...good skin tones and an excellent tight crop...puts the emphasis on those smiling eyes...the image appears just a bit soft in focus...and there does seem to be some resolution lost from the upload...the colors are good but the most impressive is the framing and composition...it really works

Hi Jason. This was a tough call as you did not have the eyes to focus on. I made some adjustments in PS that show me that the focus was not as sharp as it could have been. I love the colours in this picture. I am very fond of photographing big cats too. I know nothing about them but it does look as if this cat was displaying a thoughtful and possibly depressed look. I dunno... anthropomorphism gone mad perhaps. 8> Nice work anyway.
Cheers! Jeff

I have cats and know a little about their body language. This is a strong capture about pain and suffering of a disturbed animal.

Jason, Tigers are my favorite big cat to photograph. Your lucky to be able to get the chance to get close enough. While the pros say that wildlife photos should have a catch light in the eyes, I don't always agree. Very nice photo.

Uhh ... don't want to start any argument, but what does that have to do with his photo?
Jason - I wish I could see some light in the tiger's eyes. For me, that would have made a world of difference.

Generally a nice sunset. I'd like to see a bit more detail and a somewhat larger post. Also there's a bit of noise present probably from the scan.
