you have texture, compostion, reflection and color..but the image seems soft and loses some great detail...I'd love to see this sharp with that beautiful mist...your exposure is good ...i wonder if the softness is due to scan and upload?

Nice interplay of greens and browns on the wet ground, signs of new life coming through and a new season. I think I would crop some of the white sky out because it has no interest, also looks like the image is sloping left to right.

velvia is a very good slide film ,but is a lot better for spring shooting than fall shooting, the cost for a 36 exp 35mm is around 8.00 and 120 is around 5.00

I like how it appears you got down somewhat low here to get this shot. very beautiful. Very. Is Velvia good for landscape shots? I see that it is used for landscapes a lot. Is it cheaper, or more expensive film, out of curiousity.

Nice idea but it's a bit hard to see this bike against the wall, with the lighting and contrast as displayed. I am not sure what you were going for here, but the bike doesn't look that "old". Maybe if you did it in black and white, or sepia, or made the photo look old. The angle it was shot at doesn't really make it easy to see either. This is confounded by he tall grass or whatever that is by the handlebars, which makes it hard to really see and appreciate the front of the bike. Maybe trying a simpler surrounding. And deciding what you want to feature here as the theme.

Nice shot; good content; good use of DOF. It is a bit dark though, and it's almost impossible to see a fly on his nose partly because of the brightness but also because of the size of the photo (which is a site issue, not yours). Happy Shooting.

Nice picture, but it's a kind of too blurry. Guess you didn't have a tripod with you and needet to hold the camera in your hand, so it's a nice try. I like the small leaf on the right side - it adds like a bit of contrast to the monotone image. Would like to see this image in B/W - might even look better. But - good try. Steffen

Well... Allow me to sidle past the huge pile in the middle of floor and get to a critique. I think this is a great shot, the log in my opinion adds a sense of drama and scale to the image and in the overall I think it makes this particular image quite unique. I hike with an Rb Pro-S, gear, flashes, tripod etc in the Blue Mtns, where I live, to get shots of waterfalls and I believe I empathize with what goes on in these circumstances.
There may be those who say the cave in the background is too dark. The reality is that the cave doesn't look any different to the naked eye, while you are there setting up your shot. So why shouldn't it be dark? These kinds of shots present difficulties due to the contrasty light that we often encounter. I think you've done the right thing and exposed for the falls and allowed everything else to follow. There is a tiny bit of blown out highlight in the tree's, top left, but even that is pretty much what the naked eye observes when shooting in this environment, so why should we want it any different?
I like the shot, you should too.

Hi Dave Just looking at your portfolio and, well this is an interesting contrast - I assume you took these two at the same time? Did you edit either of them (saturation/contrast?) in computer or this is just the difference from the cameras? I think the Leica colours are very eyecatching but the Nikon ones probably more realistic. Would you agree?
