Keith, Great composition, nice clouds and sky, really like the way you used the swells from the boat as a lead in, but for me it's a little too blue. Would love to see this photo in great exposure of B/W--anyway very nice shot
Thanx, Almax

just one =) its best to kind of cheat with HDR... use one exposure, export the normal one, then over-expose, export, then under-expose, export ... then merge them... that way you dont have to use a tripod with multiple exposures... its a whole lot better than carrying around a bunch of stuff... or worrying about hand-shake on your camera

thanks for the comments all... I guess I got lucky, it was my first visit to the Grand Canyon and I was hoping for clouds to add texture to what I knew was gonna be an awesome view... little HDR processing, nothing too drastic, just to get the detail... I like how it turned out... Cheers!

This is a most interesting shot - It really looks like two shots - the sky and the canyon. This effect is exacerbated by the placement of the horizon line in the center. I know you wanted to show both the sky and the canyon but I think the shot would be improved if you had either featured the sky or featured the canyon - about 2/3 of one and 1/3 of the other. I hope you don't mind but I just had to experiment. In the attached file, I sacrificed some of that fantastic sky to avoid that "two picture" effect.
That being said, your exposure is spot on and I want to know how you ordered up that sky :-) It is terrific! Every time I go to the Grand Canyon it is either overcast or pure blue without a cloud in sight.
Keep on shootin' you are doing good stuff.

Excellent work, you've taken advantage of both the weather and the lines of the structure to create a fine image. I imagine this would also work in BW. Regards, Gary
