Thanks for the comment and advice. The photo that I posted is supposed to simulate IR color film effect with grains and maybe that's add too much details on the skin. Here is a smooth version.. I am not sure which is better... guess depends on the viewer.

Nice pose, maybe the picture just a touch too much PS post editing and loosing details in the shadow area. The bright spot on the right could also be tone down slightly to reduce distraction... very beautiful model...

I guess quite a few of you question the "natural beauty shot"... Here is the original and also I have posted 3 more shots of Amber that were shot a month before... still working on getting my "perfect shot" of her... it's a tough assignment.

I like character and compsotion but not sure about your exposure... lack of detail in the shadow (his shirt and the dark leaves) is distracting and draw away from the character... the white patch on the right makes my eye wander off the photo.
Again... why not providing realistic shooting info this is a digital image (post manupilated and not B&W negative)... sorry just misleading a real "tough one"

Good intention to use the winding road as leading compostion but the photo is busy and lack the dynamic of color especially the top half of the picture with the "white patch" is distracting
BTW, you shoot with a color photo using B&W Negative and a digital camera?

Thanks for the comment. Monica is standing against a texture wall. The hair style is the art work of the hair stylist (Charles Maksou in Boston). This is part of the fashion shoot during the Bizzard 2005 in Boston.

The ringflash unit I used is by Hensel. I have the Hensel 1200 porty power pack with their ringflash unit.

Thanks for the comments. The shot of Emily was done with a ringflash and I have the shutter speed set at 1/15 sec and F5.6 with normal front curtain setting. It is quite a challenge shot consider I have to hand held the camera with a hefty ringflash attached to it. I did not have my tripod with me at this shot.

I agree with Stephen that the lighting is too contrasty and also the shadow on the guy's face (eyes area) lack detail and loosing contact with the viewer. It is an interesting side lighting editorial picture.

The photo was taken with an on-camera fill-flash Nikon SB800 set as 1/3 stop under. I use a custom curve setting which usually warm up the picture by 1000K which I like for most of portrait shot outdoor. Hope this help for your info.

Just to clairfy the confusion. This shot was taken with the digital camera Nikon D70 which I accquired recently. Previuosly, I shoot mostly FUJI RDPIII and I had just used the old frame to this photo and that's why it stated RDPIII as film. The orginal is even sharper on the eyes and the down size image is not as crisp.
