Hi Merrin...i think she needs to be lit up a little more. The brightness in the background might have thrown the meter off a bit but a stop or 2 over would lighten it up and give her a bit of a glow. Or fill flash if you use flash. There is a separation in the picture between the bright upper half and lower bottom half on the right side that makes my eyes fight. Keep at it and let's see some more.

Nice environmental shot Mark...a stop over might have whitened the snow a bit but that is nit picking.

nice and moody....i think cloning out the little white dot at the bottom left would help though.

Hi Richard...good job of blurring the background. I think cropping around the edges to remove the unnecessary background areas would allow for a stronger focus on the butterfly. Thanks for posting and welcome.

like the soft lighting from the top left....i think a fill on the bottom to give faint detail would be nice and little looser frame.

I like this Les....interesting old house. There is a guy I saw on his personal site that uses colored strobes at night and long exposures to create great effects with subjects similar to this. I believe it is http://lostamerica.com This house would be perfect for that if it was safe to enter. Don't get me wrong..this is a very nice BW shot.

Nice work putting it all together.....can you explain how you blended them on so cleanly? I can't tell from this size that the wall was shopped in. Are the boy and the girl separate photos as well?

Hi John...if i recall correctly the film was fuji 400 speed ...i used another as well that was 100 speed that gave it a green tint. I did set this one up in the closed off area of a building that i was able to gain access too. I pulled the chair into the scene and the rest of the area was as is. Thanks for commenting John.
