Really good portrait. I think the composition and the back and wings work really well with her. Great job.

I commented on this once but it didn't show up. I hope you don't get two from me.

This picture caught my eye but when opened, it looks a little soft. After looking at it for several minutes, I like the softness. It works well with the pink shade. Great crop amd nice looking model.

It's a great shot.

A little griness perhaps try sharpness also would help. But you show great potential and creativity. Are these self portraits. Good job...

Hi Melanie.
I agree it's great - but the background distracts me as well.
Otherwise - it's beautiful.

The clutter in the background is the big flaw here. You and your model did great except for the background. You should have hung a white or black sheet for the background.

Looks to me to be a very auspicious first. I'm attracted to the sharpness of the image, the light, and the flare.

The flare brings it all together into one experience. Without it, it just would not translate all that well into a photograph. I almost always try to induce flare. This is the best i've seen.

Nice Composition..great lighting. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but something bothers me about her arm being cut off. But that's trivial.. overall, great shot!

To me, it has the look of the 1940's in some respect I can't quite place, but is nice. Overall, I like the photo but if you will, forgive some observations.

A little blur (softness) is nice, (as long as it's not overdone), but I feel that the grain is too strong for your subject and tends to block up the shadows. A little reflected light would help ease the shadow beside the nose and on the lower jawline, and maybe add a bit more of a catchlight to the eyes. I wish the backgound were more out of focus as I find it leads me away from her eyes since it seems to be in equal or sharper focus. Your title is great and certainly adds to the "emotional appeal" score of this photograph.

I do like it grainy and with soft focus. Very emotive image. Congrats.

Hey, Melanie! Nice work. I like how the road leads the eye to the drama in this photo - the lights of the truck and the sunset. That the rest of the photo is dark and cold adds to the pop of that area. Nice work!

I love the tilt...it makes this photo much more interesting to me. I like the color of the sky and the light...nice!

Outstanding effort for a first photo - the light is beautiful, and I love the road pulling me into the distance. I find the tilt uncomfortable, although I'm sure it was meant to be artistic. Don't worry about that or change from yourinspiration, just know that some of us won't get it.

I would like to say that I like this photo I like the fact that you took it on the angle and that you can still see the color in the trees even with the sun in the photograph. I know that the mavica isn't the easiest to control these things but it handled it great in this case

Very good shot especially for your first photo, I think you have the eye, so I hope to see more from you!
