Hi Don...this is a butterfly...a "Painted Lady " to be exact...not sure when you took this but there have been two major migrations this year... March/April and now...since you are farther south than I am I'm assuming it was around the date you uploaded...but wait...are you in NE or Arizona since we're on the first of June?

the words are powerful on there own, IMO this is an image that could stand on it's own too...it says so much just by it's content...you shot this at a good angle giving maximum impact by drawing the viewers eyes upward...excellent composition

such an expressive face...questioning, full of curiosity and most important the angle of looking up...so obvious she is looking to an adult adding more impact to her stature...excellent composition and light...very well framed

this is magical just by the very nature of its being...clocks are part of every day and unless you are a collector we rarely get to see the inner workings of a mechanical clock any more...I applaud your post work...I went looking for the original to compare but you have apparently pulled it...no matter, I was drawn to this one; the only thing I might try to change is take the spots (ticks)near the numerals 11, 1 and between 9 and 10 and try to make those little ticks look less soalrized...the rest of the image except for some black areas looks more uniform...I might try to blacken the black a bit too...the composition works and the subject definitely holds my interest

I do like the toning... the perspective is excellent and the variation of tones is good...I am tempted to take a bit off the left and just a hair off the right to give it a definite vertical feel...the wall of the window left seems to pull my eye a bit, I think think vertical will keep the focus on your subject more...

Quite different from those mountains and the ice...you captured a good solid expression, excellent detail and light to show the detail...the backdrop adds color, her gaze and the composition add a bit of mystery...excellent technically

It seems like they start in my backyard and end in yours...at least we will have some green a bit longer this year...good calrity and detail...a good composition and beautiful spotlight on the green

good composition with excellent detail...you managed to pick up the textures so well; the light was in your favor...the snow adds another element that makes the image feel cold excellent image

I can find nothing to complain about here...this is excellent...a good strong composition with excellent light and detail in the shadows...beautifully captured...this is excellent

This is one of those that just sort of makes you smile...I miss the catchlight in his eye, but the composition and detail, along with the great color make it a great image

please don't tell me that the sky really looks like that at your place...if it does I must consider moving a bit South...beautiful image Frank...that flower is detailed perfectly and the sky makes an excellent backdrop

I read all your data and when I got to the bottom I got my answer...the flash...something I need to work on...beautiful detail, a fun shot with excellent light and a perfect dof...just one question...tripod?

oh they do look like they are worshiping the sun as I wish I was...a beautiful warm image to warm the cold dark grey day here...excellent composition and detail...I love how they do appear to be reaching...an excellent image

light and color are good...I think the composition is outstanding...but I wish for just a tiny bit more sharpness in the foreground eye

I like this one too, even though there is no sense of the southwest, those clouds and peaks do well to hold my attention...another excellent view

Beautiful background layering and that nice sharp cactus in the foreground make a terrific composition...your horizontal midground makes a great 90 degree contrast to the vertical cactus...excellent image

without a doubt a superb shot...the body detail is crisp and exposure is excellent...composition is good bringing the bird and flower right up front...excellent framing...I have nothing to nit pick about this one...

made me smile...besides being a great street shot, I wondered what it would be like to try this with mine...h-m-m think they'd go for the jugular(sp)...

I might want to bring the top down to just a bit above the door frame, so the viewers eyes land on the cat and the mans face

Hi Neil...the colors definitely all work here...compositionally I'd like to see just a bit more off the left and right to make it a bit narrower and just a thin border...IMO it would have more impact...natures colors at it's best

Hi Jim...yes I pop in here every so often to see some old friends...hope you enjoy it here...a great place to showcase your work...and beauties like this egret are always a welcome sight...that little old camera is earning it's way I can see that...beautiful colors and light...I'll check in every so...

you have a wonderful composition that allows the eye to move across the arc formed by the flowers...exposure on your bee is good, while the flowers appear slightly over exposed...the image is a bit soft but not to the point of distraction...in my opinion, if you have the composition down, the technical is easier to work on...not everyone has an eye for composition as you have shown it so well here

very nicely done...beautiful wood that lends itself to warm lighting as you have done here...might make a suggestion to take out the corner directly above the elbow or at least lighten it down some...might try smoothing out the colors on the image right against the leg too...good subject for the experiment with light

sharp and detailed with excellent light and exposure...one suggestion...the very bottom has a rectangular piece with what looks like a date on it...I might crop up just above it...I think it might tend to distract the viewer...excellent dof and textures well captured

looks like a very pleasant place to work and enjoy lunch breaks...I bet this is beautiful when all is in bloom...the angle you took this from shows well...but again...just a bit more sharpness for this excellent composition

this is quite a humorous image and one that can tell a story on it's own..is it a mystery? just wondering where the poor fisherman is...good light and composition ...could stand to be just a bit sharper

I love tight crops...just a hair more dof on this and it would be perfect...just enough to grab that eye super sharp...the color and exposure are good...all that grass around her beak is an added little bonus

an excellent composition...beautiful tropical colors from the one island I have not yet visited (next on my list)...you have achieved a beautiful dof, just wish it could have gone just a bit deeper in the flower...but I do know how difficult that one is, clarity is excellent and presentation good
