I also find the Bessa very good - it's really easy to get used to, it's small, light, and looks good too :-) The exposure meter seems fairly accurate, although especially with the 21mm lens I have to be careful about where I point it at to get a correct reading. So far I've only had two problems:
1) When loading the film, the leader tends to loosen up quite a lot on the take-up spool, so I have to manually hold it tight in place for about three turns to make sure the film will advance properly. Is this typical for the camera, or do you think it's something wrong specifically with my piece?
2) After developing the films, I found out I need to pay more attention to the way I'm holding the camera - I had the bottom right corner of quite a few frames covered by a finger. One would think that after four years of shooting, that kind of stuff doesn't happen ;-)

Matej, Bessa L and 21/4 was my favourite combination for about two years! Great lens, isn't it... I wish this were a little larger, but it's still large enough to see the nice rendering of colours and textures.

Hi Marco,
I fixed the print after the bleaching stage to make sure that the bleached parts will stay bleached, and not be redeveloped by subsequent toners.

fantastic work, Matej! and thanks for sharing your tech info. A question: is there a particular reason because you refix after bleaching phase ? sometimes i have tried split toning , bleaching at first (and after wetting the paper, if dried) and after selenium toning but without intermediate or final refix..'i'm worrying now :-)

I thought some of the other shots of the gasometer, particularly those looking up at a narrow strip of sky, were much more impressive than this one. I have given up trying to get my Kiev to work, and will be sending everything back to the Ukraine. I am SO disappointed--having bought an exposure meter and scanner for MF to use with it! This kind of subject would have been ideal for it...

This is rotating on the FP again and wanted to say congrats for whenever you received the well deserved EC...great timing,tone and perspective...
hope your friend has had the growth removed from the top of his head by now..hehehe...has a timeless look and reminds me of a film still from a German or Danish film...i shoot film,too ;>
