Saludos
julio.

wow, 1-2-3-4 poles and 1-2-3-4 birds! Is that coincidence or what? The girl provides lots of balance and interest to a very interesting composition. Once again, beautiful sepia tones enhance your image. i love the shadow crosssing her face as well as the flat almost matte tones in the sea and sand. Really gorgeous image but i have one problem i don?t quite understand, what is with her shoulder? Is that a sore? Is that even her shoulder? The shadow is geometric sort of, something that doesn?t seem like the shape a shadow would make crossing a shoulder..i?m confused..regards: kat-

Hola, Julio...i don?t understad why this has just one comment, although i admit, it?s a great comment! i like the tones of this image a lot as well as the beautiful detail of the dead flower and leaf..the other blurred leaf provides nice balance although i?m not sure how i feel about the rim of the vase. All in all, this is a nice image, shot at an interesting angle, with beautiful tone and texture. best regards: kat-

What amazing lighting, Julio! Yes, you are so right, the metal sphere seems to be a replica of the cratered moon celelbrated by a sculptor or else brought to life in a petite form for us to touch and know intimately. i like the composition and the deliberate blur of the bush. This is a mystical and magical piece and i am so glad to have seen it...best regards: kat-

Very peaceful scene, you have composed it well. I might've cropped a little more of the tree at the top but that's just me, I love the lonely feeling to it, more like solitude than loneliness.

Classic subject, lovingly composed. My eye first moves in a big circle around the frame from the little clump of plants in the foreground, up the tree trunk, across the leaves, and then to the quiet little boat floating in the water and around a second circle, tighter this time, more intimate, from the boat, to the grasses, back to the boat, back to the grasses, back to the boat. Very intelligently composed, nice black and white tones. Your title is touchingly emotive. Very, very well done Julio.

buenas dias, Don Julio!

I love this photo for reasons of superb technique, composition (really really excellent composition!) and because the subject is close to my heart. i have a book about Columbia?s haciendas and used it to design and build one house and am now starting my second. i also have a book about the Carribean plantations and i am fascinated how early colonists settled these new lands and brought their cultures with them, Spanish, French, English and Portugese. Most specifically, i am interested in how these cultural elements influenced their architecture and how colonists combined the materials, climate conditions and production of what must have been strange crops (such as sugar cane) with the cultural influences of the old country. i was especially amused by one photo of a plantation home in the Carribbean, where they actually built a fireplace in a bedroom, not realizing, or not accepting that they were far, far from anything called cold weather. i often wondered if the Mistress of the house demanded the fireplace to make her feel like she was back home in Europe.

In this photo you depict three important elements, the need for security, an impressive welcome entrance (that persists today in Latin American archtecture) and the importance of transporting the cash crop around which the entire hacienda, and it?s associated pueblito derived its income.

For anyone who wishes to know more about the haciendas in the region of Ochal, here?s a link, but it?s in Spanish...
