Thanks! This is the last stop for food and drink for another 50 miles, just before the entrance to Death Valley.

Nice image! I can feel the cold and stillness in this photo.

Tilting would not correct what you see. There is some keystoning off to the right (my camera was not quite square with the bldg), which make it look slightly tilted. If I had the professional version of photoshop, I would correct the perspective.

Michael, you seem to have missed the point of the image.

Thanks Sonia, and you're images are quite beautiful as well! Some remind me of Albumin prints.

I actually like the "blown out" feel of the model's skin here, and the line of her zipper leads the viewer's eye right into top part of the image. Beautiful velvety, blue touch to the background. Great job and compostion!

Oops, that is a typo, as I used Ilford HP5. Thanks for pointing that out!

Thanks for your nice comments, and I really like your work as well, great stuff! I actually hadn't noticed the shadows on the leaf, so that's why it's so helpful to receive advice from others. I agree that the shadows, now that I've seem them, are slightly distracting. However, I am rather rigid with regard to preserving the raw nature of Polaroid 55 P/N, so even though I could correct it digitally, I'd rather not. For me, the quirks are important to the overall look.

Greetings Oliver! Very nice and poignant. She seems to be lost in a sea of automation, and the look on her face seems perplexed, yet thoughtful. It asks alot of questions: is she thinking of a youthful romance? Has she gone to a carnival to escape a depressing situation? One minor criticism is that I would like to see less the white area at the top of the image, and more of her, but you may be limited by the exposure. All in all, nice job.

Thanks so much for your generous comments. The polaroids were scanned using an Epson flatbed 2450. The negatives are placed on the glass, and I sandwich another piece of glass over the negative. This sometimes results in some newton lines, but it's trial and error. This procedre seems to be the only way I can retain the expressive border of polaroid 55, as the supplied carrier eliminates them. BTW - your compositions are quite beautiful as well!

This was a lighting experiment for me, so I shied away from later digital alternations, while trying to set up the lighting to reduce distracting reflections. The bright spot you see is the softbox. I tried as much as possible to position my lighting so as to prevent unnecessary reflections, but that reflection couldn't be helped at the time. I shot this with my camera on timer while I was bending over the camera pouring the liquid into the glass (I was beginning to get drunk from the fumes!). Hopefully, I'll get better at this!

Thanks for your comments! The off-white specks are actually dripping liqueur which became darkened with the download, but, point noted.

Gorgeous work! Reminds me of some of Steve McCurry's work. Beautiful folder overall.
