Pat
Thanks for the honesty and detail of filters.
I have looked at your images many times and always thought - oh - I could do that I just need a 2 or 4 stop ND filter and so on. I also thinnk that a lot of your images are underexposed - but O know that is not so - its a technique I use to increase colour saturation = anyway - I am sure you dont need me to tell you that ypu have soke wonderfull images - mine are perhaps more traditional - www.davidtasker.com

You have some wonderful images and this is one of the best - It reminds me a little of one of my own http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1221841 that was taken in England in 2006 because of all the birds nests in the trees.
I also liked the boat http://www.usefilm.com/image/1248925.html which rmidned me of similar scenes in Eassouira, Morocco plus I thought "Gate" was good - an ordinary subject captured well

Keep up the good work - I will check back often and look at your images.

The walk to the Arch is a brisk 1 hour going in - its not a tough walk by any means. You can get back in 45 minutes. This is a n interesting perspective - well done

Wonderful
I just dont seem to get the good weather when I visit- but then it's a long way from Tasmania so its not as if I can just drop in.
You have some wonderful images of the Lakes District. I would love it if you could add a date or at least amonth when you images were taken.
On the image itself - sharp - great light and good work.
Kind regards

Thanks for your comment Laurie. I kind of like this as it somewhat different to my traditional landscape. One thing I learnt on that trip with 60 photographers is that there is always "your" unique perspective. The other thing I learnt is not to take tours because they cramp your style. Always the tour guide is saying " keep up, come on, we have to go now". Having said that I did take a tour for 2 weeks in Morocco and as a first time visitor to that country it was a wise decision but if I go back I would do more trips by myself - tours are a good introduction but nothing quite the same as discovering on your own.
In March I am of to Vietnam - on a tour - hahha - for 2 weeks but I have a feeling I will go back and have a good look around by myself without the constraints of a tour guide - have a care - do you want to email me at dtasker@netspace.net.au
Thanks

BTW - looking at the image you have applied sharpening AFTER you put the borders on - there is a tell tale white edge (but not consistant ) next to the borders. Always do your sharpening before adding borders and text. Hope you don't mind this feedback

John, I have NO problem with your sugegstion of a tighter crop. In fact a "panoramic" crop would suit this very well and have uploaded one that might work. I have a number of multi framed stitched images in my portfolio - if you are interested. Most or 2 or 3 frames joined. My most ambitious is Turret Arch and the Windows section at ARCHES NP http://www.usefilm.com/image/1004837.html - that was 5 vertical shots joined giving a neat 60MB image of very high resolution. Have a great christmas.

Thank you Laurie, I have been keeping an eye on you work although I have not left any comments. Sorry I never got a chance to meet you this year. It was a lightening visit to Utah with my daughter as part of an 8 week trip that took in Utah/Arizona. Morocco, England, Spain, Paris and Venice. Have a wonderful Christmas

Thanks Joggie - I have just seen how small this uploaded image is - I had better check my upload size of the image.
I thought you might like this a little better than "Bedroom 3" - Your comments on Bedroom 3 were noted about the harshness of the Suns orb - thanks -
Its Midnight here in Tasmania so I am of to bed - thanks again for your interest in my images.

Very Sooky - the wide angle and distorted lines ( leaning building edges) really make this interesting - lus the havy sepia (red) toning adds to the image

Joggie, your right about the high contrast. You can see the sky has blown to the left where the Sun would be - the natural blue of the sky fades quickly. I did play around in Photoshop to see what I could come up with in curves but was not happy. When I got more details into the shadows the overall effect was to draw the viewer away from the light on the buildings, It changed the viewers focus onto the two Gondola's - still I would be happier if the sky was not blown. I know I could use layers and completely replace the sky. In fact Kevin Temple ( another Usefilmer) would probably drop a bunch of dramatic clouds into this for me if I asked nice - LOL - Thanks for your comments

Barbara - The colours are so Vibrant and I like the angle that you have chosen with the walk leading to teh left rather tan front on. Exposure looks good to. I see you have a D80 - I took delivery of my D80 on Monday ( 4 days ago) - I feel sad about retiring my Fuji S2 - It will be interesting to compare with as teh S2 has a superb image sensor
