That's one serious rain cloud. Probably you need to up the contrast slightly in the hills. John

Beautiful Micky. It's like half B&W, half saturated colour! Fabulous pan - just look at the great range of mountains deep and way back! The itsy bit of fencing on the right looks great.

Very nice image - you have a beautiful country.

Linn
PS : We have just had a whole week of rain - the earth is wet wet wet and I feel so blessed. However, the Southern part of our country is going through a severe drought with run-away fires :-( Too dreadful :-(

I'm torn what to look at the light going thru the amazing clouds, or the beautiful colors in the grasses.

Really great the way it is not a perfect shape, and the petals make it into a lovely shape. The colour is gorgeous - it has the look of a painting to it

Thanks for the comment Greg...always nice to hear from the locals...the soft background worried me so I actually cropped quite a lot off the sky..probably a bit too much I've decided.
Cheers Micky.

Micky, how do you do it? :-)) Everything from your lens is a masterpiece! The mix of colours in this image is wonderful. It looks as if some giant hand sprinkled icing sugar in the foreground.
Absolutely beautiful, such a great composition and capture. Well done

Thanks for your kind comment Linn, the water drops are Micky made in this case we have been having dreadful weather and I have had to bring some of the blooms indoors..yes I am printing the series of rose portraits in the hope of marketing them...I will be envolved in an International Heritage Rose Convention to be held here later in the year...hence the pressure to capture the images at present as many are once summer flowering only....it would be great to earn a few extra dollars doing something I enjoy SO MUCH!!!
Have a great Day.
Regards micky.

WOW! Micky! This is publisher quality! I can just see this on greeting cards and botanical books - have you considered the possibility?

Glorious pink (straight into my fav folder of course) and a beautiful composition. LOVE the drops!

Hi yes, can't get into gear today. It's a slow day for comments. I think a little more space on the left & right of the rose would aid the composition. Cheers John

Hi Sarah, thanks for your interest...for my macro images I choose the ap.first(in this case a quite small one as I wanted everything sharp) then set the digital camera to super macro...always use a tripod..I do not use extension tubes at all.
For this image I faced the flower towards the strongest light the balanced the light on the back with white card reflectors.
Good luck with your flower portrait coarse,if I can help with anything all please ask.
Regards Micky.

WOW! Your portfolio is magnificent. Thank you for commenting on my image for several reasons, but the most important is that it led me to your portfolio. I am to take a flower portrait class this month. Your images will certainly be inspirational. I love the angle of this one and the beautiful light. (Thank you for the lighting info.) Did you use a macro lens here or extension tubes?

Glorious sunshine flowers against a backdrop of snow dappled mountain range. The flowers are bright coloured, saturated with the New Zealand sun and unspoiled by smog and smoke of cities. I like the low angle Micky - gives a terrific perspective.
Well done.
