This shot has potential, a couple of pointers: Straighten the horizon, and needs just a touch more sharpening.

Hi Den,

No I'm not really a railway buff, I just like being around locomotives! My wife, (who has brain damage), attends a day-centre just 5 mins away from Sheffield Park station, so it is handy for me to pop in from time to time.

All the Best, John.

Hi Den,

Thankyou for your comments on my Loco shot, I have made another attempt using Fred Miranda's Shadow Recovery, which preserves the blue of the sky:

David, it is amazing how you seem to be able to capture people seemingly unaware of your presence! Especially when wielding a large camera like a C3! Good work. Regards, John.

David, I have just read Joan's poem, so beautiful, just like this photo! Very evocative, just superb work....I also love swans, & have taken many photos of them, but that great one eludes me! But I shall keep trying as long as I am able......

Regards, John.

Lovely against the light shot, might have been improved by not showing quite so much of the sun, thus avoiding quite so much lens flare, but a cracking shot, nontheless. Regards, John.
