Angelo; I answered your question on my photo, don't know if you got it. This was quite a lot of work. Good job.
Mine was done with a filter called "basket weave"
You can find it in Paint show pro 8.
You would have to stitch all your photos together, then overlay the basket weave.
You can make the strips different size, and the little things (squares) I forget what you call them, different colors and different sizes.
I prefer black. I tried to center the eye on my photo, that's a little challenging, but I was happy with the results,,Let me know if I can be of anymore help. I would be glad to..sometimes I don't keep notes.

Hi Angelo;
Sorry it took me a while to get back to you.
This is done with a filter in Paint Shop Pro 9 called basket weave. You can change the color of the strips, make larger gaps, add a texture to the strips and many other combo's...you did it the hard way! ;>) now try the easy way..

I sit here playing with all the filters
in PS. I think I layered hard light
inverted and used a color filter.
I guess I should keep notes. It's like
painting to me because I can't paint.
