Pretty woman. I'm OK with the lighting, but the focusing is soft at the eyes. You can see that the camera focused more in front on the hair, than the eyes. Still, it's a nice shot.

Excellent image. It reminded me of an abstract oil painting. Very well done. I also like the way you angled the image perspective.

I really like this shot. I think it could be better with a little PS to darken the hotspots on the eyes and leaves.

Thanks Susan. I left a comment on my photo for everyone to read. I love your stuff, especially the sunset pics. How do you get such fantastic colors? They are very warming and make me miis the south. I'm originally from Texas myself. Clouds and blue sky are what I miss. The storms are fantastic out that way. Have you had any storm ops yet? ~Victoria~

Thank you all very much for the praises. And to try to answer the questions... I estimated that the glacier piece was originally 300 feet tall and estimating that the wave is approximately 1/5 of that. So, around 60-80 feet high. It was amazing to sit there while this was happening. The sound of the ice cracking was like a hundred glass bottles in a fire all exploding one after the other. When the piece finally calapsed, the sound was like the loudest thunder I had ever heard. The ground shook and vibrated from the deep base sounds of the crashing. The wave made its' own sounds. I could hear what sounded like rocks on an ocean beach, all rolling around together and then the crash of the wave onto the river. Large ice chunks were thrown across the river, each creating more splashes as they fell. If you are to go anywhere in the world, experience Alaska once in your lifetime. You'll remember it forever.

? Your location says TEXAS. Is that where you're from, 'cause the Grand Canyon isn't in Texas...
Still, very wonderful shot.
I would have liked to have seen the shot that's a couple of minutes before this one. I think the center area would have had it's own color, which may have added to this picture.

Man! If this is your version of just starting out, I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us. I took a look at the rest of your images and they are all very well done. This is one, if not the most impressed I've been with someone elses portfolio. Thanks for sharing. And please, add more. ~Victoria~

Very nicely done. Something to add to your toy collection might be a flash for the front of your lens for macro photos. Nevertheless, I like this shot very much the way you shot it. I can see how it would be hard to remove the "hot spots" without scaring off the butterfly. Nice catch.
