I know John, I was just joking. I made that comment because of how perfect the placement of the horses legs. Pretty cool!

It is an ADF (Automatic Direction Finder). This points the direction to a radio transmitter.

This technology is still installed, but has been supplanted with a VOR, which is easier to use and much more accurate for point-to-point aerial navigation, John.

Now...you know. ;)

This is a very daring composition that works well for me. Having the orange barrier right in front was risky but it does not impede my view further into your photo. The use of further orange barrier to funnel my eye through your image is very successful and visually exciting.

Cheers,
Tim

It looks to me rather like an effigy from some long vanished culture... there is something tribal about it.

Wow - it's an impressive subject. I've never seen such a wide tree before!
I like the way you've composed the photo, with branches and roots leading the eye from each corner towards the subject. Nicely done.

Thanks Barb, I have no idea where this boat is at present? Unfortunatly I have let my photography slip a bit of late due to cp problems, and an extra cold winter here, saw a bird with a mouthful of straw yesterday, so spring cannot be far away.

John, in my opinion, this photo lacks a definite focal point. The lighter colors are over-exposed and there is too much going on in the rest of it. You shoud crop is down to just the fungi and try to lessen the exposure. Also try to get in closer for more fungi detail and less outside distractions. Keep shooting and thank you for sharing. Regards Kathleen
