Lovely. I'd like to see a diamond stud in her ear to go with the beautiful choker.

Beautiful work. The clouds are simply stunning, and the high contrast works on that part of the image. Ansel Adams would be proud.

The contrast really makes this photo work for me. I like how you framed it, too; cropping in closer would lose the perspective that has the child looking so small. The portrait captures a sense of play and innocence, and vulnerability (something a bit menacing in the dark, rough ground).

What a beautiful model and portrait. Amazing how much detail in her face you've captured, and at such a wide aperture. I'd prefer the left side of the frame to be cropped out, as its brightness is distracting (when I hold my hand over it to cover up that spot, I like the portrait even more: it brings out the light in her eyes). Her freckles are adorable, and her gaze captures a subtle look of longing and curiosity so typical of adolescence. Nicely done!

What a beautiful smile! Nice that you captured it to share with all of us. I'd love to see a larger version; the image as it appears here suffers a bit from low resolution artifacts.

I find that the blur and grain really work for me here. It gives the image a surreal and painterly quality that makes it stand apart from other landscape shots. Love the blues and purples in the clouds.

Beautiful portrait. The light that catches her right eye is what makes it stand out for me.

Love the perspective! Brings a unique angle to an oft-photographed subject. From this angle, the towering daisies look majestic.

Very groovy, 70's look to this one. Since you're in so close, I'd prefer to crop out the left side of the frame to match the right. Love the shades and the stubble. Nicely done.

Really like what you've done here with the duotone approach. The tree makes for the perfect frame, with the figure moving from the darkness toward the light. I might have liked the person (looks to be a woman, but given the title, I'll call her the monk to be a little closer, but that would lose some of the zen-ness (for lack of a better term).

Funny, now that I'm looking at the full-frame version (see comment above), I think I like it better. Serves me right for being so quick to crop in PS.

Know what you mean about the black bar; it's part of an iron railing, and you can see more of it in the uncropped version of the photo (attached here). I actually renamed the image from "2 flowers" to "urban flowers" (this was shot in the inner city) hoping to play a little off of the iron bar, but I don't think it flies.

Magical. I like the crop as it is; wouldn't want to lose the strands of hair along the left side of the frame. Paula must be very pleased with this shot.

Very nicely lit. I can see why you were drawn to photograph her. I like the way her face rises up to meet the light streaming in through the open doorway. You might consider cropping about a centimeter off the left of the frame (somehow the lock distracts my attention a bit from the little girl).

Lucky you to be photographing in Goa, what my friend (a native to that area) calls the Bahamas of the east.

I love how you've framed this shot, leaving us to wonder what's occupying her attention. The color and texture of the wall makes for the perfect backdrop.

I like how you have her peer in from outside of the frame, as if looking in at us through a window. That's something I'd never thought of trying.

Not hard to see why Al gave this an editor's choice award. It's stunning. There's something remarkably nostalgic about it, as if you've managed to capture my fondest memories of being a child. Lovely, and one of my favorites.

Just incredible what you get out of your Sony. You've got a remarkable eye. This photo reminds me of lazy afternoons as a child, laying in the backyard exploring the tiny hidden universe in the grass.

Okay, now that you've filled up my Favorites folder, would you mind telling me your secret?! If you haven't compiled a portfolio for publication yet, please do so... these are just too good not to share with a very wide audience.

Just gorgeous--the right combination of lighting, tones, stance, expression. These types of portraits mystify me, as if those of you who can do them well exist in another dimension. You bring out the best in your hassy.

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of applause. The lighting is just amazing, as if the boat were incandescent. Love the deep blues in the sky and water.

This image portrays the warm, glowing colors of India. Love how similar the two men are with their turbans and moustaches. Their smiles are so welcoming. They seem very much genuinely happy to see you.

The lighting here is what works for me, spilling as it does across the boards of the bridge and lending them a sheen that looks peaceful.

You've caught her gaze at just the right moment, Mario. I love the clarity of her eyes, her braids, and the choker she's wearing round her neck. I imagine it is her mom by her side, and they're sitting on a sidewalk watching a parade pass by.

Very dramatic photo. The boy's eyes say so much. I'd love to see a close portrait of his face; there's so much longing there. Well done!

You've captured the mood of relaxation well. Love the tatami mat (wish mine had that border!). I like the rabbit, too, but I feel what others may object to here is its energy; it would be very effective if the rabbit were resting, too, perhaps in the crook of the woman's arm.
