So is the title existential or just pragmatic? Photo has great emotional impact...sadness with a softness to the focus...enhances the image. Nice face but hate the fact that you cut off the top of your head and left so much on the bottom of the photo. Can you do it again and crunch down? Great job.

I think that this photo really needs to be sharper, I would like to be able to count every hair in your beard..(nice beard btw.)
It looks like you are using autofocus which you should not. Use a manual focus, or if you really dont whant to, position yourself in the middle where the camera measures the distance, Or if that is an option on the G5, select an autofocus point that is where your head is, and then it will all be fine. /Mattias

I find it's hard to get the compositional balance right with these photos (hanging foliage with beach sunset). I must have a few dozen from my last Queensland trip that are in the "sort of, maybe, but not quite basket". The light you have captured is very good but the dark overhang tends to dominate here, rather than complement. I'd say lose the top sixth (from the tree) and maybe add some water below (which might not be physically possible from the location). That little sliver of land in the bottom left corner detracts a bit.

I like this picture very much, Kenneth, but as mentioned, the horizon is tilted a little and also I think if you had not quite centered your subject, you would have a more dynamic image. It's a simple composition trick to place your key subject in accordance with the 'rule' of thirds (although it's more of a suggestion than a rule! LOL!). Perhaps if you were to crop a touch off the left edge?
Someone else mentioned the reflection of the sky which I admire too. What is really sweet is the grass framing along the bottom. Beautifully done! And the mist really sets a lovely mood. Your patience was rewarded!
Welcome to Usefilm, Kenneth. Keep posting!

Hi Kenneth, wonderful sunrise picture with at athmosphere. For my understanding the sun and the sunreflexion are to bright. But this is the result from a digital camera. I prefer yo use for such motives only analogue cameras
PS. thank you so much for taking time to look at my images, and about the one with the tuscany hills. I am very glad, when you like my landscapes photos from tuscany.t encourages me to continue my work. greetings from Rolf Rock (rolfrock@slovanet.sk) i appreciate your comments, and also check my portfolio sometimes from time to time if you have a possibility, i wish you good light an a good success for your further photo work

It was worth the wait. You caught a picturesque moment. Great first posting.
To bring out the contrast of the mist against the background trees, I have played with the levels and curves. It gives the misty blues a little more punch and adds detail to the sky, and a touch of sharpening. Just a variation.
