Very good shot Andrew, much better than the repost. I wasn't into photography when I was living in Woking, but seeing this makes me wanna go back and take a shot of this. Really good angle!

Something's not right, but I'm having somewhat difficult time pinpointing exactly what it is. Possibly, it's those shiny metal bars of the railing.

andrew, good as a document, but to me it is not good enough as a stand alone picture. i understand the graffiti but don't feel it carries. maybe a section of it had done? regards charlie.f.kohn@sixpence-pictures.com // madrid
p.s. anything going with the meeting in london for roaming for 'street art'?

Mark, these are the tower blocks to which Andrew refers. The term "model city" and council estate would rarely be used in the same sentence! Although I agree that with the sun star and shadows it does generate a contradictory mood. It just needs a few bi-planes buzzing around to create a real Fritz Lang effect... I might be wrong but can't imagine the Brandon Estate (this is possibly a view from St Agnes Place?) is any nicer an environment than the many around Hackney, where I used to live.

I like how the sun is shining through that open window. We would've had no idea it was overrun by squatters. It looks like a model city. It's wonderful how the shaded areas are holding so well, while the high portions maintain. And to top it all off, the perceived atmosphere is quite pleasant.

Thanks peter but its actually underexposed! The shot was basically an accident anyway but after looking at it I wanted to try and bleach out as much extraneous detail as possible, so my ideal would be to loose any defined 'edge' on the left side. I could mess with it more in PS but as I've said before, I'm trying to stop my relance on the digital darkroom to sort out image issues. This image is already a bit overprocessed but if I hadm]n't gone this far it would have been unusable. Posting this is more an excercise in the critique of serendipity than my own limited skills.

It would be much better & get more comments if you had a naked lady to add some foreground interest...he he he.
As you said a ND grad filter would be the biggest inprovement if think.
