Great shot. You really know how to wield that lens. Do you use a Wimberly or King Cobra?

Not so sharp as your others. Where do you find all these beautiful birds?

Dark plumage is sooo fifficult to get right without spoiling the rest of the image. Perfect.

Great close up. These often look contrived but this works really well.

You love this or hate it and I love it. Clever use of shutter speed. Very well executed.

I love this, composition works well sith the outstretched wing. Nicely exposed too.

Doesn't quite work for me because of the reflections. Dark forground is a bit distracting too. Love the way the water merges into the horison and beyon. A tigher crop might work gbetter.

Margaret, thanks. I have been trying to get a shot like this for ages. This was my only one with both birds clearly in focus and the positioning was near perfect. I shot this landscape and cropped to this format.

Alex

You have a great tallent for spotting this kind of photo opportunity and then executing it really well. Another great shot.

Well I hpe it is an excellent capture, the bird has had little work other than levels and sharpening.

This was shot in Wales so guess what, it was on and off rain with grey/white sky. So I wake up the following morning to beautiful skies everywhere. So I shot the sky, same place as I shot the birds and then replaced the background.

The original sky was white, no definition or gradation at all. How did you spot the switch or was it a guess?

I have tried this shot myself but it never really came off. Your works much better though it might have better composition with the 'in focus' peg being on the third to the left.

The telephoto effect and narrow aperture work really well together.

Great sense of movement but for me a little too tightly cropped. Was this 'full frame' or did you crop at all?

Perfectly timed! Maybe the parasol in the background could be 'toned' down a little as it really catches the eye. Another great shot.

Another stunner Alex, simple but it works exceptionally well. To be picky, shame about thelettering near the plug.

Love this Jim, is it a straight shot? Really eerie. I think I might have placed the subject slightly lower in the frame though.
