It is a classical and very interesting shot.
However I think that if you get little further from the object, you'd have a better angle of this monument. You would still keep the same concept, from down perspective but you'd gain better light, better contrasts. You'd also reach better proportion between the monument and the sky area. Can you get back to this monument again when it's sunlighted? Try soft early morning light or evening warmth. (depending on monument position).
Last thing: Don't you think this photo could be classified as "Above our heads" project better than "Abstract" (not really much abstract about it, right?)
