There is a sales centre for suburban subdivisions home just to the right of the photograph.
The white picket fences adorn, and define the parking lot. I guess that's all there really is too it.
I hope that answers your question.
cheers.

I like the compostion but I got a question here ginger - what the hell is this place? - were those fences and pots arranged like this for some reason?

Keep the sand!! It's so boring it's great. It makes a great field against which to see the houses. Don't change a thing!

Interesting composition. Keep rolling. Regards, Aleksandar.
P.S. I would crop the bottom a bit more. Too much sand over there, takes too much of the photo.

I agree with Donald - the low contrast treatment you've given this shot is perfect.

This is a beautiful photograph Ginger. I love the irony in it - the crooked pole works well in breaking the symmetry of the composition - the sky contrasts nicely with the sadness of the ground.

I think the low contrast treatment is terrific. Don't pander to the instant impact crowd at the expense of the material. I'm glad to see this work getting a good reception. Keep those cards and letters coming.

I agree with in transit. There's not enough contrast, try curves/levels. Composition - nice.

The composition is good

The idea of an old river... with the trash of modern day... and the new construction is all part of it...

However the contrast and sharpness could be improved upon IMO
