Thanks so much Sunset Man, glad you like it, not sure from the comment if you like the leaves. I put this into fall colours category, because I liked the colouring of the leaves, just to bring the shot out slightly.

This one is after my own heart Dan especially being a lover of B&W as you probably well know, although the 'Selective Colouring' of the leaves puts it over the top ...

I still think a bit of selective sharpening could be a help in getting JPG size down under the 400k limit. We've all seen how much bigger JPG files are after any sharpening of the image. I tend these days to limit the vertical pixel dimension to about 1,000, as most people (me included!) don't like to scroll vertically. Resizing the original image to that and only then thinking about minimal sharpening can reduce the file size quite a lot... But you probably know all this already. Oh yes, you can also apply sharpening via a mask that excludes areas that don't need it, like sky and clouds, which are over half of this superb panorama...

Thanks Mahamed, if the crop was closer with her would have worked well also I think, however I would have lost all the reflections and other elements in the shot, next time I will tell her to wear red :-)

Thanks Roger, yes I have always not used this option, and always taken care that I have not forgotten it. It is just very difficult to get a panorama of this proportion with lots of colour information to stay below 400Kb

I started off with panoramas that were just rather wider than the usual 24 x 36 ratio, moved on to cylindrical panoramas (much higher aspect ratios) then ended up shooting sphericals. It's easier with good software like PTgui. Now I'm interested in Gigapans... but haven't done any yet. Have you taken care to untick the default "sharpening" options when uploading? They are DEATH to image quality... Much better to optimize for the image at actual screen size.

Thanks Rodger, I don't believe it can be used for that. A guy I work with does them, and they completely amaze me http://www.digitalstudio.co.nz/gallery/v/nikon/sphericpano/ Panorama's in usefilm are rubbish, trying to constrain a photo of that size to below 400Kb is nonsense and JPG slider of 8 to get the file size makes it very soft, the orginial is extremely sharp

Hard to imagine a better subject for a panorama... Can Autopano Giga photo stitching be used to create spherical panoramas too? It's a pity we can't show these on Usefilm. This is a really beautiful panorama although the big image didn't look quite as sharp as I expected.
